History of Surreal Photography

Surrealism in photography was one of the great revolutionary changes in the development of photography. Rather than art, photography was reviewed as a copying cost. Surrealism is the introduction of "more than real 'images, to forms of art.

Surrealism was a movement in art and intellectual activities, emerged after the First World War, Andre Breton, was the founder of the surrealistic concepts and he has the influence of the assembled Dande movement. Surrealism is in fact the expression of real emotions, without polishing. André Breton describes surrealism in Surrealist Manifesto, taken as the pure psychic automatism in the real functionality of a person's expression. Surrealist art characteristic forms differ from the traditional forms with no special form or idea. It is the expression of the basic human instinct and imagination of the subconscious. But when comes Surrealism> Photography has not even imagine the critics, such a possibility. However, "Marquise Casati" by Man Ray, made a change of belief, as it featured several eye for the photo. Man Ray and Lee Miller regarded as legends in surrealistic photography, as they were very successful, generating overcome the limitations of photography surrealistic images.Maurice Tabard is another famous surrealist, who had his own technique for surrealistic imaging. Hans Bellmer creatively used mechanical dolls to sexualized images, where as for Rene Magritte camera was the tool to symbolize photographic resources of his paintings.

Surrealist photographs are like the images that symbolically represent describes dreams, nightmares, intoxication, sexual ecstasy, hallucination and madness. The difficulty with photography as a medium is that itabsorbs the reality, and often the real images may not be sufficient to bring this unconventional expression patterns. But are the famous surrealist photographer able to perform the task, as they make effective use of photographic techniques. The ordinary snapshots, body photographs, anthropological photographs, medical photographs, film stills, police and even photos can be manipulated to create the impression of surrealist images in the pictures.

Surrealism in photography isespecially using different techniques. The differential techniques of light and lenses may be the primary method for surrealism. Photo montage is one of the most popular processing techniques, in which several images are coupled. In photogram photographic paper can be used instead of the camera, the image imprint. The pictures generated by the flush of light can create amazing images that has a surrealistic look, too.

Multiple exposure is another technique forSurrealism, in which the camera is clicked twice or more, without rolling the negative. The second picture will be superimposed on the first image and the final product is an undefined mixture of both. Cliche verre or glass negative is the surrealistic technique, the negative uses of coated glass plate. In any case, solarization, or Sabatti effect appears as a remarkable technique for surrealism. It produces dramatic effect of patterns through the flushing of light on thePhoto, while the development in the darkroom. It was developed by Lee Miller, the selective inversion of light and shadows have discovered. The bright and dark areas with clear line of reversal make it most appropriate for surrealism.

Surrealism in photography has progressed much from its primitive. The new technology and lenses offer immense opportunity to represent the new generation of photographers, their emotions in the context of the cameras.
